Rub It In by Billy “Crash Craddock
Written by Layng Martine, Jr.
Layng Martine wrote and originally recorded and released "Rub It In" produced by legendary Ray Stevens and it reached Number 65 in the Billboard charts in 1971. Three years later in 1974, Billy “Crash” Craddock recorded it and it went to Number 1 in the country charts and the Top 20 in the pop charts. In 1999 Matt King released the song on his album Hard Country and charted with the song on the country charts at Number 54. The song's melody and a lyrical parody was used by Glade to advertise air fresheners advocating to “Plug it in, Plug it in.”
